Phylogeographer Updated to YFull v8.03.00

Look up your migration by SNP here

17288 samples, 166 ancient

These counts do not reflect a number of ancient samples that have been added to YFull in the last few months. I will work to add them by next update.

I'm also expecting to get more ancient samples from J1 from collaborators in the coming weeks.

YOU can increase the accuracy of PhyloGeographer's theoretical male line migrations:

  • Motivate your matches on YFull to use the most specific regional codes reflecting where they trace male line descent through traditional genealogical methods
  • Identify distant STR matches using STR Match Finder then motivate them to NGS test to add further resolution in your branch of the YFull tree
  • If you are knowledgeable of ancient samples in your field of haplogroup research, please contact me to get credentials to submit to PhyloGeographer Ancient Samples map
  • Tell me if the location I have in PhyloGeographer for your sample's regional code is wrong. You can comment directly on this page. Your sample should display on the map if you look up your SNP in SNP-Lookup link above and click "Show Samples".

    1. If you still trace descent via paper trail / traditional methods to Scotland, then I think you should leave your sample as Scotland on YFull.
